The jury of award iset up by the Napier Borough Council has announced that on opening the sealed envelope containing the came of the architect whose drawings of the proposed new municipal theatre coincided with the desires of the jury, that of Mr J. A. Louis Ilay's. a Napier architect, was disclosecd. The personnel of the jury of award was- the Mavoi- and Messrs Davies and Phillips the two last-mentioned gentlemen being Hasting architects. .Competitors were limited to member* of the Now Zealand Inst Lute of Architects''at Napier. The prize wa s to be It per cent of the cost of the theatre, arid the council said it was not prepared to spend more than five per cent, beyond the sum of .CSOOO, winch did not include lighting, heating, seating,'floor coverings, .etc. ■ . ■
