WAIMATA MEETING CONCLUDES

The annual meeting of the Waimata Sheep Dog Trial Club was concluded on Otonga station on Saturday. The result of the final event, ihe straight hunt, was as follows: A. Edelston’s Baldie 414- points, 1 ; T. B. Cal colt’s Glen 404- points 2; J. Griffin’s Blue, 40 points, 3; .1. Griffin’s Jock, 38 points, 4. The following cups were awarded for the meeting: Heading Cup, presented hy Mr. J. Newman, C. J. Hyland's Spark, 46 points. Two Dog Cup: P. Barker 79 points. Throe Dog Cup: J. Griffin, 112 pis. Champion Dog: J. Griffin’s Blue, 107 points. Local champion, presented hy Airs. Tombleson: J. Griffin’s Blue, lo7pts. Local champion hi mto way ; J. Griffin’s Blue 81 points. Maiden Cup: E. Coventry lOopts. Maiden event in class 1: F. Coventry’s Sharp, 31 points. Maiden event in class 2: F. Coventry's Rag and M. Green street’s Don, equal, 36 points. Maiden event in class 3: S. Mon ok’s Storm 37 points. Messrs J. 'Thomson and Son’s special prizes for competitor under 24 years of age: M. Green street. Cup for two hours’ work on the hill: S. Mock 1, P. Tombleson 2. The entries this year were 40 in class 1, 33 in class 2, and 36 in class 3, as against 54, 46 and 46 last year.
