Negotiations are proceeding for liis sale privately, and if unsuccessful he will be auctioned bn April 9. Strephon carried all before him since he. ran second to Statesman in the last Melbourne Cup. Strephon’s owner, Sol Green Is dissatisfied with the wording of the stewards’ report concerning the run* ning of one of his horses at 'Elemington on Thursday. Although liis explanation was accepted lie had looked for a complete exoneration and now declares that lie will not race another horse for three years years, after the forthcoming V.J.C. jnoetipg.
