CREAM GRADING.
ADVANTAGEOUS TO SUPPLIERS. DAIRY COMPANY FINED ON EIGHT CHARGES. •'Press Association.! AUCKLAND, April 20. Allegations that the Taupiri Dairy Company, Ltd., had graded cream advantageously to suppliers, were made in the Police Court to-day, when the Company was charged on eight counts with failing to grade cream received from a supplier ill accordance with the regulations. Mr Hubble, who appeared for the Department of Agriculture, said first grade cream sent to the company by a client was placed in the *’ finest grade, the result being that the supplier received a higher price. In one hook the grader had entered the cream as first grade, but it had been entered as finest ill :the office/books. “This must have been done for the purpose of attracting custom,” said Mr Hubble. . - * - - •Mr Leary, representing Hie Company, said the grader’s task was a difficult one, and the results of grading often varied. 1 For the eight, misgradings the supplier received an additional 9s 7d. There was ho"foundation for the suggestion that the company was endeavoring to attract business by favoratSe gradings.
