WORLD PROFESSIONAL SPRINT CHAMPION. TATTLE GOES TO MYLES. (United Press Assn—Copyright.) MELBOURNE, Feb. 14. By defeating Banner in the 130 yards championship by half a- yard in 12 3-5 secs., Allies became the world’s professional sprint champion. NOTES. Arrangements have been finalised by Messrs E. Algic and O. Paltridge for a visit of a team of cyclists and runners to Napier, where they will compete at a special sports meeting arranged by the Napier Amateur Athletic Club on Alarcli 3. Any club member desirous of making the trip should communicate immediately with the organisers to enable the necessary transport and accommodation to ho arranged. A. special feature of the meeting will lie a Poverty Bay v. Hawke’s Bay relay race over a distance suitable to both sides. It is reported that Randolph A. Rose, of Masterton, has definitely decided to retire from further racing this season.
