Unemployment among teachers wa* discussed bv the .South' Island school Committees* Association at the annual conference to-day. the following resolution was carriea: "That this conference deplores the tact thatunder the existing system there is no guarantee of employment for students on the expiration of their period of. training, and considers it nuperative in the interests of primary educaticn that provision should rt* made for continuity of employment.' - In the course of discussion it was urged that if the Department could not guarantee portions i 0 teachers at the end of the training period, the bond system should be discontinued.
