WALT. STREET SPECULATION CAUSES CONCERN
(Received Feb. 10. 10.30 p.m.) WASHINGTON, Feb. 9.
Some concern is felt, here over the amounts going into broker loans for the purposes of Wall Street speculation. Loans from the Federal reserve Hanks in New York City alone, which are the highest in history, totalled 3.835.000.000 dollars, almost a Trillion dollars above a year ago, despite the raising of the Federal reserve rediscount rates, and agitation against money for Wall Street speculation loans increased by 10.200.000 dollars last week.

A girl dismissed from a cotton mill confessed, after arrest, that she set fire to the mill ill revenge. The premises wore detroved, the damage being -£.‘40.000. Five hundred have been rendered idle.
