AO!. COOI.I DOE'S NOMINATION. I- I’ETHER DEBATE IN SENATE. ■United Press Assn. —Copyright.i (Aust. and N.Z. Press As=n.) i Received Eeb. 10, 10 p.m.l W ARRINGTON. Feb! 0. Senator'J.aiollette'.' resolution again became tile vehicle oi a debate in tile Senate, in which President C.'onlidge's intention was discussed at groat length. Senator Less declared that the President “wants to get out or office" and “means what lie says”, hut under the hectoring Iron, the J.emoorats he said he thought tile contingency might arise in which the Republican Convention would nominate President C'oolidge tor the Presidency again and Senator Eess contended that the President could accept nomination. Senator Walsh said that the insolation was a reflection on. the President’s high character and insurgent Republicans backed by a considerable number of Democrats might succeed in forcing the resolution through, when the vote was reached, probably tp-inorrow, in which event it would unquestionably hamper efforts to draft President C'oolidge at the last moment. Rumors have been gaining currency lately that certain Republican leaders have planned to force a deadlock during the early balloting at the convention and thereafter take advantage of the situation to spei.iv unanimous nomination of President Cooiidge on a wave of enthusiasm. The Lafollette resolution is looked upon as a definite effort to minimise such a possibility. OFFICIAL REFER LI CAN NOAIINATION SENATOR WATSON TO RE ANNOUNCED (Aust. anil N’.Z. Press Assn.)
