XMAS TRAGEDY

MAN KILLED IN GARDEN

TWO SOLDIERS ARRESTED AT

PARTY

LONDON, Dec. 27. A Christmas tragedy occurred at Trowbridge. Edward Charles Richards was found shot in his garden. He made a statement to the police, who, on Christmas Day, arrested Bombardier John Lincoln at a house where a party was progressing. Lincoln said: “Do not break up the party. I will come quietly.” Another man arrested was Bombardier lan Maxwell. The theory is that Richards, who intended joining his wife and child at Swindon on the following day, found the men leaving the house, and a scuffle followed. —A. and N.Z.C.A.
