WANTS TO GO BACK
JKLLICOE LIKES N.Z. A LOST EXCUSE. LONDON, April 23. “Lord Jeliicoe’s will be a household name in New Zealand for centuries.- ’ said the Parliamentary Secretary to the Colonial Office, Major Ormsby-Gorc, at a Royal Colonial Institute luncheon to Lord Jell.cos today. Lord Jellicoe, in responding, matte an adm'rable migration speech. “My work in New Zealand.’ he said “was a labor of love, except that I was asked to make too many speeches. The time was when a sailor boasted that he belonged to ‘the silent service,’ but since Sir Frederick Field took the Spee'al Service Fleet- to Australasia, where he developed remarkable oratorical powers, a sailor is no longer able to shelter behind such a plea. I. unfortunately. wont to New Zealand sixty years tco late. The conditions there are wonderfully favorable, not only for the production of super-men and women, but of super-trout and deer, and my one ambition is to le-v s.t that country.”
