FINE NON-STOP FLIGHT. NEW YORK, May 2. • The naval seaplane P.N. 9, flying over a forty mile course over the Delaware river, s lice Friday morning, has established a- wor'd’s non-stop record of 28 hours, 35 minutes at an average of eighth- miles per hour. It is carrying a crew of four and supplies. The machine will bo used for a non-stop flight from San Francisco to Honolulu this summer. Dr. Charles Chree, superintendent of Yew Observatory, who is retiring on Tuesday, told a Daily Telegraph interviewer: “I shall still continue my mathematical work. At present I am reducing the observations of the Australian expedition to tho Antarctic under Sir Douglas Mawson. Results of geographical conditions in tho high latitudes are always interesting. Members of the expedition in this case were unable to establish a station near the magnetic pole, the results of which may enable guidance to be given to another expedition concerning what instruments to use and what big disturbances to provide for.
