LONDON WOOL SALES Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd. Jiavc received the following cable from their London office: —"Government wool sales closed firmer; 54,000 bales were offered and 16,000 sold. Continental and English buyers were the principal operators. As compared witli the closing rates of last, sales good merino wools 10 per cent lower; merinos of other descriptions 10 to 15 per cent lower. Australian crossbreds, fine quality 10 to 15 per cent lower; Australian crossbreds of other descriptions neglected. New Zealand greasy crossbred wools—only a few offered —greasy crossbreds, fine quality 10 per cent lower; greasy crossbreds medium quality unchanged; coarse crossbreds neglected; also slipe and scoured crossbreds neglected. Free wool, 25600 offered, including 8,500 bales of Australian. Bulk of Australian sold at to-day’s sale; improved competition with an upward tendency.” The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. yesterday received the fofowing telegram from their Wellington office regarding the wool sael held there bn December 20:— "Fair enquiry for "half-heeds, average prices; crossbreds super lOd to lid ; fine 8d to 10 Jd; medium /5Jd to 7Jd; coarse 3kl to sd; inferior seedy 3d to 4d; a total of 1138 bales sold.”

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd. have received the following cablegram from their London house under date December 15: — "Tallow: We quote present epot values for the Mowing descriptions: Fine mutton £2 18s per cwt; good beef £2 17s i per cwt; mixed £2 Gs per cwt. Fair deamnd.”
