THE AUSTRALIAN DIVISIONS

LONDON, May 1. It may now safely be said that the troops who made the frrand xi'gat attack by which Villevs-Bretonneux was re-taken were West Australians, Queenslanders, and' 'South Aiistralmu Divisions which even before this held, a splendid record amongst Australian troops for heavy fighting on every part of the British front in France and Victorians of the Fifth Australian Division.

The Germans have still greater reserves which are just asiablejto enter the battle a second time as the British and Australian divisions have always been. There is a whole summer’s fighting ahead of the British army.
