Grain merchants frankly recognise they cannot, expect to repeat the profits earned hitherto, but expect the ’Government will conduct trade through the existing channels. “Hie Times” adds that consumers who expect a fall in prices may be disappointed. The Commission has issued a circular to the trade announcing that it is prepared to take over at last Mondav’s fair market price all holdings or'contracts then existing for wheat and Hour controlled by the Commission to he sold through the custoniarv channels by firms appointed by Governmeiit agents. .Lite Commission's action is not intended in any wav to restrict free dealing in stocks of wheat and flour not bought bv the Commission.
