The sensational developments in the treason case are exciting the keenest interest. A chemist who was formerly :i number of the I.WAY. gave evidence that shortly a':ter the war began he delivered lectures in the rooms of the organisation op elementary chemistry and the manufacture of explosives. When tin* action of phosphorus and spontaneous combustion was discussed members freely stated that the only way to stop conscription was to create rioting, the breaking of shop windows and to burn Sydney down. The- Chief Officer of the Fire Brigade gave evidence that it was * curious fact that all fires within Uiv past few months had occurred m buildings not connected with the fire hrigudb and all without sprinklers ai‘d tire alarms.
