GISBORNE RACING CLUB. CONCLUDING DAY. The second day of the Gisborne Racing Club will be held on the Park Racecourse to-day. Although the fields are not large there should be some close racing, and Mr. Coyle has concealed the winners in his usual able manner. Trains leave Gisborne at 12.10 and 1 p.m., returning at 5.55 p.m. The first race starts at 12.45 p.m. The afternoon’s sport will start with the Hurdle Race, and if all the acceptors go to the post it should be a clinking race. Scorch (10.7) has been risen a stone for her win on the first day, which should give her first day’s opponents a chance of beating her. Imposter looks well at 10.9, and Kew should run much better than on the first day. After the bold showing of Lady Multifid and Anxious in the Railway Handicap, they are sure to be well supported for the Maiden Scurry, whilst if an outsider upsets the pot it may be Pendant, who was making a great run in the straight in the Maiden on the first day but got shut out.

In the Taruheru Hack Handicap, Multicipal has 31bs less than he won with on the first day over the same distance, and will take a lot of beating. If Multifual, Gazette and Pacific Slope start, it should prove a good betting race. Rupahu has been asked to carry 191bs more in the Racing Club Handicap than he won the Cup with, but even with this steadier he will take a lot of catching, as he had the field spread-eagled in the Cup from the rise of the barrier. It would not be surprising to see Waiorewa make a bold showing in tins race, as her track work up to this distance has been of a very high order. If they all go to the post it will prove a very interesting race, and speculation will be brisk. Jem has the steadier of 11.4 in the Second Welter, but the way he finished on the first day with slb less suggests he will be hard to beat. Scorch, Multicipal and Gazette have previous engagements, and may not be started. Multikoff with 31bs off his back will run well, as he was just outside a place on the first day after running wide at the turn. Hythread promises to start a very warm favorite in the Gisborne Stakes, in which he is coupled with Cymer. King of Athol has got the steadier of 9.Kin the Awapuni Handicap, 6 furlongs, but as he just managed to struggle home the first day over five furlongs with lllbs less, he seems to be held safe by Admiral Beatty, who his been risen only 11b, and finished within a length of the grey horse on the first day. Cleft looks like turning out useful, and with Otara should prove the favorite. Several in the Pinal Handicap have previous engagements, and unless they are reserved for this race, Zeus will he a very warm favorite. On his first day’s run Despatch Carrier can have no chance with this fast mare.
