In the House of Commons Mr Asquith (Premier), in reply' to a question arising out of the Privy Council’s decision in the Ne Temere case in Canada, said that the difficulties attending on the suggestion of a uniform marriage law applicable to the whole Empire were so great that .he feared they would be unable to institute inquiries with a view to gaining the adhesion of tlie self-governing dominions thereto.
