MATTERS OF LOCAL INTEREST. Bv Telegraph—Special Correspondent■NAPlEß,:June 28. Amongst other business done at the meeting of the Education Board nos the following: Voting £4 towards the fencing of the. Gisborne School. Authorising black board and diagrams at Te Hanara. Refusing additions at Tolago- Bay. Granting of cupboard at Port Awanui. Voting of erection of tank and copper at Waipiro. ' Voting half cost of hedge at Ormond. Granting a subsidy at Te Ivaraka for gravelling. ■ 4 The Board received advice that the Department had increased the _ grant for the residence at Kaitaratahi. It was decided to transfer a female teacher from Kaiti School at the firstopportunity. The Board decided to apply for a grant for further accommodation at Te Arab It declined Miss Ewart’s, of Waipiro, application for transfer to- Wae-renga-a-hika. Miss Hooper was permanently appointed at 0-toko-. The tender of Jas. Ashly at £470 was accepted for the Kaitaratahi residence.
