PERSONAL NOTES.
Captain A. D. Chrisp was a passenger for South by the steamer last night. Mr. A. S, Wachsmann left for South by the s.s.'Monowai last evening. ‘Mr. A. R. Gatland, headmaster of the Gisborne High School, accompanied the High School football team to Napier last night by the s.s. Monowai. The local lads are to play the Napier High School fifteen. Captain C'. Hellier Evans, Lieuts. C. J. Hamilton, C. R. Spragg, and J. B. Poynter, and the non-commissioned officers of the East Coast Mounted Rifles, who has been attending a territorial instructional camp at Palmerston North, returned home by the Hauroto yesterday morning. Mr. Malcolm McLeod left by the Hauroto on a brief holiday visit to Auckland yesterday morning. Mr. C. D. Kennedy returned to Napier by the Monowai last night. Mr. A; H. Wallis, captain of the Poverty Bay Golf Club, has donated h handsome challenge cup to be held by the winner of the local championship each season. The cup becomes the absolute property of any player who wins it three times in succession or four times at intervals..
