OPERATIONS AT PALMERSTON.

PALMERSTON N., August 11. Til© officers’ training camp, wiha-ch has been held on the Show Ground during the week, breaks up to-morrow. It has been a great success, and 400 officers and “non-coms” worked really hard under the instructional staff at the show, ground, on the rifle range, and in the surrounding mountain ranges.

Lord Islington was to have come up to-day, hut did not do so owing to indisposition. General Godley came, however, and ' inspected the troops, the 'camp, and the rifle range. The camp was paid to-day, the pay noil reaching £7OO.
