Firstly, that Akibah and Sinai Peninsula wore outside the territory definod in tho Imponal firman of 1892. Beoondly, tho Grand Vizier’s telegram of tho Bth April, 1892, only referred to the woatorn side of tbo peninsula. Thirdly, that tho interpretation of the telegram concerned tho Porto alone.

Sir Edward Grey, continuing, said that such demands, if admitted, would constitute a real danger to the freedom of the Buez Canal, the liberties of Egypt, and the Khedival dynasty. He emphasised Britain’s patience and moderation, and aaid it was impossible to defer a settlement indefinitely. Henco Britaiu’s pressing the original demands for joint delimitation. ELa ooDfirmed tho presentation of a Note requesting a favorable reply in ten dayß. Sir Edward Grey added : The important frontier will remain as it has existed undisputed and undisturbed for many years previous to British occupation. (General cheers.)

Received 12 26 a.m., May 8. London, May 6. The ocuisers Amethyst, Arrogant, and Gibraltar have suddenly been ordered to sea, presumably the Levant. There are 14 British warships at Phalerum.
In the House of Commons Mr Runcim&n, in reply to Lord Lonsdale, announced: "Germany haß informed us that the statements that the Porte’s action regarding tbo Egjptian fiontier have received any encourage rnent are unfounded. The announcement was received with Ministerial cheers.
