Ho staled that the sum of £75 4s 8d had been paid to Captain Soddon for examination of starts at Christchurch, this being in addition to his ordinary salary. t Mr Fisher then gave the number of tho departmental voucher for such payment, and tho date of its receipt. In connection with this matter tho Premier now states that an investigation • has boon made, with the ro3nlt that the nnunbor of tho voucher quoted by Mr Fisher is quite cornet and the amount of snoh payment is correct, hut the payment i was msdo to liiohaid Sneddon, ■nn i authorised agent fur Anderson, .Limited, t tho voucher being for stores supplied to 1 the railway workshops ai Addington.
