POULTRY SHOWS.
CHAMPIONSHIPS,
'(Par, Press Asiocia’ticn.) New Plymouth, last night. The Poultry show opened to-day. The North Island Championship for silver wyandottes was won by Hutchinson, Auckland. Dost wyondotts in show (cock), 10 guinecs to treasury, won outright by Captain Hood. Black orpington, 10 guinea trophy, won outright by A. Peek. Pigeon Championship, won outright by J; Hurle. Hokitika, last night.
The eleventh annual Poultry Show of the local society was brought to a successful oioso lost night. Owing to the judge, Mr Dacre, being delayed by stress of weather, the .judging did not conclude uDtil lots yesterday. Mr 3 Bennett wins the chief minhrea trophy, and Richardson, Stillwater, tho Soiety’s gold medal for best bird in the show, minorca coeksrol. J. O'Connor won for game, and A. E. Hounsell’s minoreas, of Nolsonn, wiu several prizes. Fanciers of the district generally wero successful. The show was a record for poultry entries for the society, and is pronounced tho best yet in quality.
