SCOW WARRIOR
ARRIVAL AT GISBORNE.
* The scow Warrior, Captain Seclefe l acrlvec ’ from Tauranga yesterday . mod, and berthed at the railway wharf at 1 B£ L°^! offc Wellington for Gisborne . on March 7fcfa with 10 railway trucks* and on the following Sunday, when off Napier, both rudder gudgeons' were carried away in a south-easterly gale/ The rudder was taken aboard and the vessel was steered with lines. The weather was too rough to attempt to make Gisborne under these circumstances, and the scow , ran before the wind to the East Cape, the steamer larawera being spoken to on Thursday morning. From the East Cape there were j,light westerly and southerly winds across F the Bay of Plenty, and the vessel beat up to Tauranga, which was reached on Saturday night, March 18th. New gudgeons were made at Tauranga, and the scow-left - - on Wednesday for Gisborne. She was favored with a nice westerly breeze to the Cape, and thence south-east winds were met, and the vessel beat down to Gisborne.? ihe railway trucks consigned to the Railway Department. - W
