J Hokitika, last night. | The following representatives have boen I appointed to attend a conference at ChristI church on Wednesday next in connection I with the prosecution of the East and West I Coast railway works :—J. Handel, Mayor, I and H. L. Michel, ex-Mayor of Hokitika ; IJ. Grimmond, Mayor of Boss; T. W. I Duff, Westland-County Chairman ; CounI cillor Bignell, I Jss. Marshall, Grey Valley. The deputation meets the Parliamentary representatives of Canterbury and the the heads of [ local bodies of that provincial district to confer ia regard to pushing on the loDg delayed railway works, the completion of which, will be of such value in the development of the West Coast districts. A vote of thanks was passed to the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce for arranging the conference.
