Christchurch, last night. At the socond wool sale of tho soasou, held to-day, 10,026 hales wero catalogued, mostly farmers' clips. Tho wool was in oxcoliout condition, being fairly light in groaso and uioro free from curth than usual. Thero was a largo attendance of Homo and local buyers, und spirited competition for Mcriuo aod half-bred wools, which wero mostly bought by tho local and Dunedin woollen mills at a 10 por cont. advanco, while courso wools wore irregular, and showed no improvement over tho previous sale. Later.—At tho Bocond of tho present series of local wool sales to-day, a catalogue of 10,U35 bales was submitted, of which 8262 wore sold. There was a full attouduueo of local and foreign buyers duriiig tlio day, hut at oight, when tho siuglo bale lots wero submitted, only local buyers remained, and tho bidding was very languid. On the whole wool came forward in fair condition, owing to tho ttbsouco of N.W wiuds. Complaints woro made as to tho classing, many largo clips having bellies and skirts left in. Good merinos woro in strong domaud, tho oulk being taken by colonial mills, and thero was u rise of fully ouo pouuy per lb. Fine half-bredn showed a rise of j[d to Id. Courso and infirm about maintained tho rise at last sale, hut in a few cases olean parcels of coarse met good sulo. Good hollies uud pieces wero keenly compotod for by local soourers and mills. Of 10,035 halos offered 8260 wero sold at auotion.
