The Troopers.
(By Telegraph —Press Association.) Wellington, last night. A number of troopers who arrived by tho Orient were released from quarantine to-day. Tho Dofence Department is arranging to billet them in town for a fow days, and they will go to their homes as qoon as possiblo. All havo boon vaccinatod with good results. , Tho smallpox patient is reported to bo doing well, and is likely to recover. There • aro 29 oases of measles among tho Orient trQopors, and several cases of colds still in > hospital at Soamos’ Island. _ To-day’e report regarding tho Britannic • sick is that Nicholson, Lunn, and Tonks aro very ill. Lucas and Atkin3 aro im- ■ proving, and the rost aro doing woll. Tho District Health Officer is proceeding •' against tho Orient troopers who havo broken quarantine. • Ono case at Quarantine Island has been diagnosed by Dr Ogston as nervous eruption, caused by rheumatism. All tho others in camp and quarantine aro well. There are 277 in camp and 20 at tho Island.
