By Telegraph—Press Association. ' Christchurch, last night. For the second day of the Grand National meeting there was splendid weather, and a large attendance. The totalisator investments were Li 3,567, against Li2,57i for the second day last year. The following are the results :

Sumner Handicap.—Shellback (9.0) i, Scylla (10.12) 2, Count of Kolmar (9.0) 3. All started but Bill Perkins. Time, 2.17. Divs., Ls2s 6d and Li 4s 6d. August Handicap.—Titoki (10.3) 1, Goldspur(n.io) 2, Rosemere (9.13) 3. All started. Time, 1.19 2-5. Divs., L 4 10s 6d and L 3 7s 6d. Hunt Club Cup.—Zither (12.9) 1, Brab (12.11) 2, Doopey (12 3) 3. Hutana, Venture, Ahika, and Mechanic also started. Time, 5.24. Div., L 4 ns. Grand National Hurdles.—Tresham (10.0) 1, Mars (10.7) 2, Waiwera (11.4) 3The Guard, Moifaa. Haydn, Cannongate, Strathnairn, Smithy, and Winsome were scratched. Won easily by eight lengths. Time, 8.55 4-5. Divs., L 3 and L2. Beaufort Steeplechase.—Sultana, 9.7, 1; Pipi, 10.6, 2; Straybird, 10.10, 3. All started, Timo, 6.18 4-5. Diva., ;G43 17s 6d and 18s.

Second Huntera’ Hurdles.—Slow Toni, 12.7,1; Phietonltis, 11.6, 2 ; First Shot, 12.7, 3. Single Evont and Waimara were the other starters. Won easily, lime, 8.28 2-5. Div., £2 18s 6d. Islington Handicap.—Scotty, 10.3, 1 ; Ardnarf, 9.5, 2: Fleka, 10.8, 3. All started. Time, 1.47 1-5. Divs., £5 Is 6d and 114 18s.

Jumpers’ Flat Race. —Tresham, 10.0 (71bs penalty), 1; Hurricane, 9.0, 2; Skobeleff, 10.7, 3. Strathnairn, Gobo, Tuffco, Hotn, Reliance also started. Won easily. Time, 2.47 3-5. Divs., 11 16s 6d and 13155.
