“BAMBOO CURTAIN”
SINGAPORE. They talk now of the Bamboo Curtain—the border of Communist China. Many Malayan Chinese students lured to colleges in Communist China returned “completely disillusioned” according to Singapore C.I.D. Chief R. C. B. Wiltshire. He said the students had been promised free education at Canton and Mukden Universities. But they found the only “education” was Communist indoctrination. When they tried to return to Malaya, their efforts were opposed by the Peking Government. —Reuter.
