FIGHTING IN TIBET

NEW DELHI, July 4,

Fighting in Tibet was reported today by Mr. Edgar Nichols, an American missionary, who reached Kalimpong, North Bengal, after a 100-day trek with his wife through Tibet. Mr. Nichols, who has been working for the past 12 years among the warlike tribes of Batang, Eastern Tibet, said the defection of the Tibetan, General Lieu Wen-hui, to the Communists had complicated matters.
