WEST COAST DRIVERS FAVOUR F.O.L. IN THREE SECRET BALLOTS
iP.A.) GREYMOUTH, July 6. The West Coast Motor and Horse Drivers’ Union has held meetings in Greymouth, Westport and Hokitika to discuss the union’s affiliation with the Federation of Labour. _ A secret ballot was held on each meeting and in every ballot the voting was unanimously in favour of maintaining affiliation with the federation and against joining the Trade Union Congress. A Hokitika meeting last night resolved to forward a request to Mr. A. C. Melville, the national secretary, to relinquish the position of provisional secretary of the Trade Union Congress.
