ACHESON’S MISSION TO BOLSTER ATLANTIC POWERS

(10 a.m.) NEW YORK, March 24. The Secretary of State, Mr. Dean Ache/son, planned to visit Europe early in May to discuss non-military methods of strengthening the Atlantic Pact Nations against the Soviet Union, said the New York Herald-Tribune. The paper added it was reported that Mr. Acheson would preside at a meeting of tht Atlantic Pact Council which would engage in a general review of common objectives outside the military field and pact members were expected to fully discuss political and economic problems.

Diplomatic representatives in Washington of the pact members would in the next few weeks draw up an agenda far the session and agree on the place and specific date. London has been suggested.
