"Useful Instruments” As Trophies
NEW DELHI. Indian Prime Minister, Jawaharlar Nehru, has suggested “useful instruments” as trophies in competitions, instead of the customary cups and medals. .. . “What happens to the cup after it is won?” Mr. Nehru asked, distributing prizes at a flower showw here. A large number of them fell into neglect or were lost, he said. Useful instruments, on the other hand, would winner “what lie did or should do. With a blush, Mr. Nehru added: I have won two cups in my life. One of them was lost and > the other —1 do not know where it is.”
When motorists at Bampton, Devon, England, complained that they could not see a halt sign, and wanted it moved to the right-hand side of the road, the Transport Ministry replied that it must stay on the left, even u it could not be seen.
