Oil Drilling Resumed.

Six weeks ago Egmont Oil Wells, 1 .imltcd, were about to begin their second quest for oil at New Plymouth with a new bore on Ngamotu Beach. One evening their derrick collapsed. It was reconstructed in record time and drilling in earnest has been started. According to the field manager of the company, Mr. F. J. Dobson, the new bore will reveal whether there is or is not a real oil field at New Plymouth. At the company’s first bore cast of the cool store at Moluroa. oil was struck at about 2200 feet and Mr. Dobson expects the new bore to be sunk to about the same level.
