One of Many Winners

Robin Daves, Trentham hack winner trained at Riccarton, is one of the many winners selected by W. H. Dwyer for different owners. It was at the 1948 yearling sales that Dwyer successfully bid 440gns. for the Robin Goodfellow colt from Sanction, a product of the Glen Lvon Stud. Levin, for Mr. G. Lang. Trainer C. G. Humphries did not require Robin Dayes to race until last October, when the gelding made his debut at Motukara. Sweet Spray For Ellerslie The oustanding three-year-old filly Sweet Sprav may not now be retired to the stud this season. However, according to her owner, Mr R. H. W. Holden, H. 8.. plans for an extension of her racing career are indefinite at the present time. Mr. Holden said, when a report that Sweet Spray was likely to contest the next Melbourne Cup was referred to him, that the filly's future programme would depend on how she races in her next few engagements. Mr. Holden is leaving for England on March 29, but he. will see Sweet Spray race in the Awapuni Gold Cup tomorrow. After that she would contest Ihe Great Northern St. Leger Stakes and the Great. Northern Oaks at the. Auckland Easter carnival. If lie receive* favourable reports of her form at Ellerslie, he would possibly retain her for another season’s racing.
