DRUID’S LODGE PAYS OVER £54,000 IN BENEFITS IN YEAR

(P.A.) GREYMOUTH, March 24. The annual meeting of the Grand Lodge executive of the United Ancient Order of Druids (North Island and northern provinces of the South Island) concluded yesterday.

Reports showed the benefits paid to members in the past year exceeded £54,000. The net funds increased by £39,842, £IBOO in the members’ investment fund The next valuation in December, 1951, would disclose a .substantial actuarial surplus and measures for increasing benefits are to be submitted to the biennial conference following the actuary’s valuation. The next conference is to be held in Napier in March, 1951.
