AERO CLUB SHOW DRAWS GOOD GATE --VISITING PILOTS
Conducted at short notice from Darton Field aerodrome on Sunday, a minor air pageant organised by the Gisborne Aero Club a considerable amount of attention and provided residents with a good opportunity of assessing the value of air training from the point of view of safety in operation. With a maximum of seven aircraft over the field at one time, and with a programme including exhibitions of formation flying, balloon chasing and acrobatics, the pageant was run off with complete success, and spectators indicated their enthusiasm by a substantial number of donations to the funds of the club.
The assistance rendered to the Gisborne club by fellow-enthusiasts of the Auckland Aero Club was keenly appreciated. Three machines were brought down from Auckland headquarters and took part in the display.
