N.S.W. Wants Federal Aid For Price Control
SYDNEY, Aug. 3.
The New South Wales Minister of Labour and Industry, Mr. F. J. Finnan, said that the States would not be able to meet the costs of administering price control without Commonwealth assistance.
He added that the State Premiers would discuss with Mr. Chifley the question of costs at the Premiers’ conference at Canberra late this month. The administration of price control would probably cost New South Wales and Victoria about £400,000 each every year and Queensland about £200,000.
