CZECH ARMY HEAD BOLTS FROM RED REGIME
(10 a.m.) LONDON, July 20. The deputy Chief of Staff in the Czech Army, General Antonin Bohumil Hasal, has fled into the American zone of Germany. The Associated Press correspondent at Frankfurt says this is confirmed by United States Army headquarters. General Hasal’s defection from the Communist-dominated Czech Army is considered to be of major military importance.
