West Power Heads To Confer With German Premiers

(N.Z.P.A.—Ueuter— Copyright.) (10.30 a.m.) LONDON, July 19. After a meeting of the Allied Military Governors of west Germany, General L, Clay said that he and his two colleagues would meet the 11 Premiers of west German States at Frankfurt tomorrow to continue discussions on the London six-Powcr proposals on western Germany.

Earlier it was reported that General Sir Brian Robertson, General Clay. and General Koenig had met to eliminate the French disagreement on the proposed new western German Government, says the Associated Press correspondent in Berlin. The French objections are said to be rooted in the old French fear Of giving the Germans too much power through political and economic unification. The German leaders made counter-proposals based on the fears that they will be accused of splitting Germany by setting up a west German Government. Their aim is to modify the London recommendations for a western State by substituting an organisational statute for the proposed constitution and removing from the plan other characteristics which would label western Germany a State or a Government.
