VISITING SCIENTISTS TO TOUR DOMINION

(P.A.) AUCKLAND. June 3.

Between sessions in Auckland and Christchurch of the Pacific science congress which begins next February the visiting scientists from overseas will take part in “inter sessional” excursions to Wellington by seven different routes related to the interests of the visitors. For instance, those interested in forestry will go via the State Forest areas, those in anthropdlogy via the centres of Maori population. This information was given today by the Auckland committee chairman. Dr. K. B. Cumberland, head of the Geography Department at Auckland University College.

Public meetings will be addressed at nights in Auckland and Christchurch by eminent specialists. The joint hosts in Auckland are to be the Royal Society of New Zealand and the Auckland University College and in Christchurch the Royal Society and Canterbury University College. The sessions will conclude shortly before the Royal visit and "oost sessional excursions” to the fiordland of the South Island are being arranged.
