L J- Ellis is beginning to work Bruce along in earnest again but the increased tasks do not have much effect on the gelding’s middle-piece. Bruce always carries a lot of condition but at present he is excelling himself. Last week he ran a useful half-mile in company with his stable-mate Prefect, a two-year-old gelding by Royal Chief out of Schoolgirl Prefect, who will carry the colours of Mrs. G. H. Humphries, may have his first race soon
