AUCKLAND CARPENTERS WAGE DEMANDS MET (P.A.) AUCKLAND. Feb. 27. The Auckland branch of the Carpenters’ Union decided last night that as the employers had agreed to meet its demand for extra pay, it would resume the normal rate of work. Tlie decision was made at a special meeting of the union at which the goslow policy as a whole was reviewed. The following is the resolution carried by the meeting, as announced later by the secretary, Mr. D. McEwen: “The Auckland branch of the New Zealand Carpenters and Joiners' Union has decided that, as the Auckland Master Builders’. Association has publicly agreed to meet the union's demands for ljd an hour increase in the minimum wage rates, the go-slow policy has now been lifted in Auckland as far as members of the association are concerned. This also applies to any other employer covered by the award who meets the union's demands.’’
