Sharp fighting between Jews and Arabs broke out this morning around the Hewbrew University and Hadassah Hospital on Mount Scopus, in Jerusalem. Mortars, grenades and automatic weapons were used Police headquarters reported that the Jewish guns on the roofs of the hospital and the university fired at Arab positions in the Valley of Nuts, on the slopes of Mount Scopus. . The .iews reported that they blew up Arab houses and that eight Jews were wounded. The Arabs reported that their casualties included one woman killed Seven men and one child were injured. A Cairo message said an Arab League official announced that the league had warned the United States that the Arab States would cancel the American oil concessions in the Middle East if the United States continued to use its influence in the Security Council to partition Palestine.
