Experimental Work.

Additions to the staff of the Fields Division of the Department of Agriculture, Gisborne, have made further experimental work possible. The actual scope and numb! e of experiments to be undertaken Is the main purpose of the present visit to Gisborne of Mr. C. J. Hamblyn, fields superintendent, Palmerston North, and Mr. P. Lynch, crop experimentalist, Wellington. Apart from maize and potato trials, attention will be given to the surface sowing of hill-country pastures and the co relation of the work here in relation to the trials being conducted in other districts.
