HEAVY COST OF MADRAS GOING “DRY”
(11 a.m.) NEW DELHI. Fob. 25 The Madras Government would prohibit, intoxicating liquor in the Madras Province from next October, said the Minister of Finance, in presenting the 1949 Budget. lie added that the ban would entail a loss of £12.700,000 in revenue and £750,000 would be necessary for enforcement officers.
