Records Surpassed

All previous national savings records were surpassed last week when 347 out of 352 quota cities and towns reached their weekly objectives. The previous record was 343 successes. All places in 17 of the 20 postal districts have already exceeded their annual targets for the financial year ending March 31. Other features are that 20,283 new national savings accounts have been opened since April 1, 1917, as against _ 14.722 for the corresponding period last year, and that investments are continuing at a consistently high level.
