REQUESTS TO COUNCIL A recommendation that the Domain Board set aside a portion of tne Victoria Domain for the laying down of tennis courts was contained n a. report submitted by the reserves committee at last night’s meeting of the Gisborne Borough Council. The committee had prevously discussed the proposal with the executive of the P-B. and East Coast Lawn Tennis Association. . , ~ The borough engineer will submit a plan showng the. area at present not used for basketball and ladies bowls and the lay-out of the proposed tennis courts. t,, Space for the laying down of another bowling green on the Victoria Domain also has been requested by the Riverside Women’s Bowling Club and this will be incorporated in the engineer’s Oii the question of additional grounds for hockey, it was recommended that the engineer prepare a plan of the playing area available at Barry Park showing what portion could be set aside for Rugby and hockey fields. The report wa s adopted by the council.
