ANNUAL BOWLS MATCH

The rnnual match between a team representing Murray Roberts and Company, Gisborne, and the Matawai Bowling Club was played in Matawai on Saturday in perfect weather. Matawai were the winners. Interest was added to the match this year by the presentation of a cup by Murray, Roberts and Company for annual competition between the two teams. Matawai will hold the cup this year. Following the games the president of the Matawai Bowlin? Club, Mr R. C. Beaufoy, thanked the Gisborne team for its visit, the ladies who had assist'd during the day, and Murray, Roberts and Company for their donation of the cup Mr L. Miles replied on behalf of the visitors. Games resulted as follows. Gisborne players being mentioned first in each instance: —Hughes 8 v. Marshall 22; Hughes 8 v. Bulst 24; Hughes 3 v.
