Regent.—A haunting love story told in gripping dramatic scenes and moments of beautiful music is the new attraction, “Time Out of Mind,”' which opens today at the Regent Theatre. Adapted from Rachel Field’s classic novei, the film relates the stublxirn struggle of a woman to win the man she wants. He is a musical genius, often veal; and irresponsible, but she nevertheless devotes her life to attain him. This is Phyllis Calvert’s first American-made picture. A fine actress, she possesses beauty and a rare dramatic gift. Robert Hutton is the boy. Majestic.—“ Meet the Navy” concludes at the Majestic today. The associate feature is “Fog Island,” a drama of greed and revenge unfolded against the eerie background of a desolate, mysterious Isis on the Carolina Coast, and stars Lionel Atwill, Jerome Cowan and Ceorge Zucco. King's.—“ Christmas Eve,” which begins at the King's todny, should attract its share of public patronage this week. Seventy-year-old Matilda Reed (Ann Harding) believes that with Christmas comes redemption, pardon and peace. She has been harassed through her worthless nephew's effort to have her declared mentally unfit. Matilda, who resists, says that she does not mind either of the three wards, Michael, Mario or Jonathan managing her affairs, hut not Phillip. These wards are a tough lot, however, hut none is so black as Phillip, so Judge Alston decides that Matilda Reed is of sound mind.
